The Middle Place
One of our bookclub members posted a video on her blog of the author, Kelly Corrigan, thus generating huge amounts of interest in making this our novel of choice. Such high expectations we have in reading yet another new writer’s work, and with numerous high customer ratings both on Amazon and Barnes & Noble – how in the world can we go wrong? It’s just not happening here. Please don’t let us down, Corrigan!
We’re looking at 262 pages in 39 chapters and an Epilogue. The timeline goes like this:
- Discussion 1 (01/22/09-01/23/09): Pages 1-135, Chapters 1-21
- Discussion 2 & Final Wrap-Up (01/26/09-01/27/09): Pages 136-262, Chapters 22-39 & Epilogue
No beach cover? Sorry, Chicken Lit’ers. Some of us will just have to pretend that we’re READING IN HAWAII. 😉

@maksbestfriend – I’ve stopped and will wait for you, mostly because you need this one on your trip. Just be warned that once you start, it’s really hard to put down again. 😮
Do you want to come and help me pack? I am almost done except for the things that can’t be until the very end. I pack light, 24 pounds. Hubs is up to 39…but truth to tell, he is carrying two pairs of Teva’s (his and mine) and he is carrying gear.
I am getting a delivery from the UPS Man Tuesday, Knit 2…finally got a refund from Barnes and Noble..we can read that too, taking it with me.
Hopefully I will get some reading in tomorrow! 🙂
@maksbestfriend – You don’t want me to help you pack… I’d be getting into the suitcase, putting your baggage over the weight limit! But I do wish you all the best. Hawaii – LOOK OUT!
Great news about K2! I’m glad to hear you’ll have both along with you so that we can keep you on board during your vacation. Woohoo!! Keep us posted on the UPS delivery and your reading satus. 🙂
@all – BTW in case you’re wondering, ‘Knit Two’ by Kate Jacobs will be our book #30. It promises to be a great sequel to ‘The Friday Night Knitting Club’. Got yours?
Good morning! I ended up ordering Comfort Food in book form, even Mitch could not get it to upload correctly to I-Tunes from the the CD’s. I just don’t want to have to deal with that. So I have that book coming Wednesday and Barefoot: A Novel, by Elin Hilderbrand, too. I want plenty of reading material. And I have to say that I love having Amazon Prime! Getting things this quickly is wonderful!

I mentioned to Becca… I have Barefoot by Elin Hilderbrand sitting on the shelf too. Have you heard of it, read anything by her? Maybe for after Knit 2? Just wondering….
You told me about The Love Season by her which I started reading before one of our books, Life’s A Beach. I am going to work my way through it no matter what anyway, so I am up for anything! 🙂
