Discussion #3 & Wrap-Up: Shoe Addicts Anonymous

Here is the final discussion and wrap-up of Shoe Addicts Anonymous, chapters 16-22. Tell us… what did you think about this one? Were you expecting that ending? Or did you envision more for our shoe addict club members? Let’s hear your thoughts.

Looks like book #14 is leaning toward Secrets of a Shoe Addict. Care to join us? If the chapter 1 preview is any indication of how good this one will be, count me in!

I am downloading this book as I type. What did you think of the ending?

  2. The ending was FABULOUS! The new business venture with Phillipe’s shoes was a superb way for the ladies to ride off into the sunset. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect way to end the book. Kudos to Beth Harbison on a sweet read – ‘Secrets of a Shoe Addict’ has a tough act to follow.

When do you want to start the new book?

Were you surprised by how the women took on the investigator and how it came back to her husband and how she turned the tables with his help? That kind of wrapped up a little too neatly. It seems like all the ends did, if you think about it. I wonder if the neatness becomes a bit messy in the next book.

And Sondra taking it so well that her beau was gay? She was head over heals. That was odd. And Joss’ boss’ reaction when she walked. That was downright pathetic. I wonder what we will see in the coming book.

    Have you started?

  4. Let’s get started now in reading book #14. I originally posted the discussion as starting today, but I haven’t finished the first segment. See the new timeline posted on book #14 page. Hopefully we’ll have a few more readers joining us?

Seemed to me that the investigator knew too much about the husband’s cheating ways and felt sorry for her. Everything did wrap up neatly in the end, didn’t it? Unfortunately, the next book doesn’t involve the same characters, but let’s see if Harbison ends it in the same neat little way.

Sandra seemed to be fooling herself on purpose, IMHO. It seemed to work out in her favor though, with the weight loss and agoraphobia. But those are heavy issues to get over, gay boyfriend or not.

Joss’ boss’ reaction? That woman saw it coming, obviously since no other hired help stayed long enough to put up with her. She needed to learn how to take care of her own children and let Joss find a family that actually appreciated her.

I’ve read chapter one of the next book – where are you?

I haven’t started it yet, I have been waiting to see when you were posting the update for the book. I have been trying to be a good little reader/listener bee…. 😉

  6. @Becca – And that you’ve been. Thanks for being so patient! The official announcement post is now live. I promise not to miss that little step again before posting the actual page for the book. Must be that ‘Mary Ann’ in me again. 😉
